NASHVILLE, TN - The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has recognized Complete Tennessee in its “Making a Difference” series for the organization’s dedication to advancing equity and higher education completion in Tennessee.
Complete Tennessee Executive Director Dr. Kenyatta Lovett said, “It’s an honor to be featured by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a difference-maker in higher education. The team at Complete Tennessee is commited to helping all citizens – regardless of race, background or circumstance – successfully pursue a postsecondary degree and graduate with the skills necessary to support our growing workforce.”
“State leaders have dedicated tremendous resources to support programs and policies that improve postsecondary access and affordability,” Dr. Lovett continued. “Raising awareness of these initiatives is one of our top priorities at Complete Tennessee, as is helping communities and higher education institutions develop strategies to better support current and prospective students. More work lies ahead, but we’re encouraged by the progress the state has made and look forward supporting more Tennesseans as they pursue the dream of a college degree.”
