Complete Tennessee Joins Key Higher Education and Workforce Development Advocates in Launching New Career Resource for Tennesseans
NASHVILLE, TN - Complete Tennessee has joined top education and workforce development stakeholders in launching a new, interactive “Tennessee Work Learn Earn” website designed to raise awareness of career and education opportunities in Tennessee.
Developed in partnership with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development, the website provides information, tips and resources to help connect students and career-seekers with relevant education and job opportunities in Tennessee.
Complete Tennessee Executive Director Dr. Kenyatta Lovett said, “One of our top priorities at Complete Tennessee is ensuring students have the guidance and support necessary to pursue a postsecondary credential or degree program. In some communities, it can be exceedingly difficult for students to access useful information and counsel about higher education and career opportunities. This innovative website will serve as a one-stop-shop to help all Tennesseans learn about available programs and initiatives designed to help them attain greater success in school, work and life, and we are thrilled to support it.”
CAEL president Marie A. Cini said, “We are proud to support Tennessee’s efforts to increase postsecondary access and completion, efforts that are closely aligned with CAEL’s own longstanding commitment to expanding opportunities for learning, employability and career success. We believe that Work Learn Earn is the perfect resource for highlighting local higher learning opportunities that will help Tennesseans earn the education they need to remain competitive.”
Tennessee Commissioner of Economic and Community Development Bob Rolfe said, “Helping Tennesseans more effectively compete for quality jobs in high-demand industries will be instrumental to promoting continued prosperity and success in our state. The Tennessee Work Learn Earn website is an easy-to-use tool that will inform job-seekers about the best opportunities in their region, connect them with education and credential opportunities, and support more meaningful workforce development. I hope many Tennesseans will take advantage of this valuable resource.”
Tennessee Higher Education Commission Executive Director Mike Krause said, “Today’s students face an array of choices and an often complicated pathway to match their interests with an academic major in higher education. Tennessee Work Learn Earn will provide a streamlined platform for students to explore their options, and ultimately, make better informed decisions about utilizing their talents.”
