About Complete Tennessee

Launched in September 2016, Complete Tennessee is a nonprofit 501(c)3 education advocacy organization focused on increasing postsecondary access and completion in Tennessee.

Our work centers on four primary focus areas:

1.      Engagement. Community engagement and investment is critical to promoting postsecondary access and completion. Complete Tennessee partners with county leaders across the state to examine the unique challenges facing students and communities and craft targeted strategies to help raise college achievement rates and meet local workforce demands.

2.      Advocacy and Accountability. Promoting increased graduation rates and postsecondary attainment cannot come without a better understanding of Tennessee’s higher education system. Complete Tennessee researches completion challenges, examines equity gaps and reports annually on institutional challenges and successes.

3.      Leadership Development. Building community advocates and promoting local accountability is critical to our shared goal of increasing graduation rates. Complete Tennessee has developed the Complete Tennessee Leadership Academy (CTLA) to inspire more local higher education champions, foster innovation and promote statewide collaboration.

4.      Innovation. Through Complete Tennessee’s research and direct work with education stakeholders, other research institutions, and students and local leaders, we will serve as a hub for the development and incubation of best practices and initiatives that will promote improved postsecondary attainment and completion.
