Diane Hughes is Complete Tennessee’s Coordinator of Operations and Development; she helps plan, execute and track our communications and development activities.
Prior to joining Complete Tennessee, Diane worked in radio news and as a newspaper writer/editor, but she has long had a passion for higher education and a desire to help improve college access. As a first-generation college graduate, Diane understands firsthand the financial and cultural barriers to obtaining a college degree, so she is excited to be working to advance the college aspirations of others. She holds an associate degree in Communications from Volunteer State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Middle Tennessee State University.
For five years, Diane served on the Vol State Alumni Association advisory board, helping to increase student engagement with the alumni association and advance fund-raising efforts for student scholarships. She sat on the planning committee for the Harvest Moon Soiree, the association’s annual fall fundraiser. She has also served as a student mentor with tnAchieves.
Diane is a native Tennessean who grew up in Lebanon and is now a full-fledged Nashvillian of many years. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, gardening and dabbling with watercolor.
